What is the status of Junior Secondary School?

We are a Cambridge school.

We are a member of FKSS (Forum Kepala Sekolah Se- Pondok Aren) and GUGUS 01 (Pondok Aren district)

We have an Operational Permit (ijin operasional) from Diknas.  We are accredited A.

We have DoE License and Owlypia Ambassador School License

How is the reporting system?

We follow Diknas reporting system. It will be done twice a year, once per semester. Mid semester Parent Teacher Conference will only discuss students’ achievements in a quarter.

Our School reports show the development of the students socially and academically.

Could my child follow the lesson if he/she can not speak English yet?

Yes, she/ he can. Basically a child has the ability to learn more than 2 languages and 5 languages maximum. When a child learns a language, she/ he  has different phase to other children. Khalifa IMS provides the matriculation in the beginning of the school year and English enrichment program to support students in adapting the English.

What is Khalifa IMS Secondary school hour?

Our school hour is from 07.00-15.30 (Monday-Thursday) and 07.00-12.30 (Friday). During pandemic, our school hour is from 07.00-15.05 (Monday-Thursday) and 07.00-11.45 (Friday)

What are the curricula used in the Junior Secondary School?

We are using four kinds of curricula:

- Cambridge Curriculum implemented in the subjects of Mathematics, English, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and ICT

- National Curriculum implemented in the subjects of GP/PKN, GP/IPS, Bahasa Indonesia

- Islamic Curriculum implemented in the subjects of Islamic Studies, Arabic, BTQ (Tahfidz and Tahsin)

- Practical Curriculum implemented in the subjects of PE, Music, Art & Design

Does Islamic Study use English, too?

The Islamic Study uses Indonesian to avoid missunderstanding in the interpretation of the materials.

Will my child be able to make shalat in movements and the recitation?

What is the target of Tahsin- Tahfizh?

My child has memorized some surahs well, will she repeat from the beginning or she can just continue her practice with the following surahs?

What is the benefit of studying Cambridge in KHALIFA IMS?

In Junior Secondary of Khalifa IMS, specifically, we are using Cambridge IGCSE and in the Senior Secondary of Khalifa IMS, we are using Cambridge Advanced Level. Both combination of Cambridge IGCSE and Cambridge Advanced Level will prepare students in any Universities they will choose.

When is the Cambridge Tests taken?

For Junior Secondary, the Cambridge test taken is IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) which is taken at the end of JS9/Grade 9

If my child fails in Cambridge Tests, what should he/she do?

There is no such 'passed' or 'not passed' in Cambridge IGCSE, only the result that is marked from A* to E. However, if a student is not satisfied with the score, he/she is able to re-take in the next series of Cambridge IGCSE.

Is there a test for my child before I enroll him/her to KHALIFA IMS?

There are steps of procedures of enrollment which are Registration, Document Requirement (Forms, school report, graduate certificate), Parents & Student Interview and Student Acceptance Letter.

How many classes does KHALIFA IMS plan to open for next school year?

For the batch of 2022/2023, we open 4 classes of Junior Secondary 7 @23 students

Is the classroom set-up differently from conventional/national schools?

We encourage Homeroom Teacher (HT) to discuss the seating arrangement with the respective students monthly. The arrangement should support the group work setting. During the pandemic, we apply the health protocols in all classrooms.

What are the backgroud of the teachers?

Our teachers' backgrounds are from national public and private universities with different majors based on subjects taught. KHALIFA IMS provides continuous internal and external teacher trainings for teaching- learning improvements, before and during teaching.

What kinds of extra curricula activities does the School have? How is the community payment?

Does the school have internal and external competitions?

Yes, we provide internal competitions held monthly in Assemblies and internal events. The External competitions we have been joining are academic, such as; Owlypia, SEAMO, TIMO, FMO, HKISO, ....and non- academic, such as; Martial Arts (Pencak Silat), Scout (Pramuka), English Storytelling, ...

What ‘character building’ can the students have from the school?

We have been implementing 7 Habits of The Leader in Me for students. We combine the 7 Habits with Islamic values through religion subjects (Akhlak). The 7 Habits become the daily routine for students in LDN (Leadership Data Notebook) for students to monitor their learning of how to be leaders for themselves and for others. We would show you the books of what our students study in the class and we would take you to our class tour to see how the 7 Habits of The Leader in Me is implemented in the classrooms.

What are the Non- Academic Programs of Junior Secondary School ?

We apply the non- academic programs in 2 blueprints, they are Interdependent and Smart.

What is research culture in Junior Secondary School of Khalifa IMS ?

In Junior Secondary of Khalifa IMS, Research Culture is divided into two programs, which are Research Application and Thesis Program.

- Research Application is applying the learning which is oriented to High Critical Thinking (involving 3 aspects: Transfer of knowledge, Critical and Creative, dan Problem Solving).

- Thesis Program is a program which requires students to solve real-life problem surround them with a proper way by doing Research process (Identify the problem, Review the Literature, Specify Research Purpose, Collect Data, Analyse and Interpret Data, Report

   and Evaluate Research). At the end of Thesis Program, each student will produce an article and do presentation of his/her result in the front of the assessors.
